Dr. Ana María Otero Piñeiro is a highly specialized colorectal surgeon with extensive expertise in minimally invasive surgery, particularly robotic and laparoscopic techniques. She earned her medical degree from the University of Santiago de Compostela and completed her specialization in General and Digestive Surgery. She furthered her training as a Research Fellow in the Colorectal Surgery unit at the Cleveland Clinic (USA). Dr. Otero holds a PhD from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, with a thesis focused on the use of Indocyanine Green (ICG) angiography to prevent anastomotic leakage. She is an active researcher with over 40 scientific publications and a strong focus on advanced oncological techniques, including TaTME and robotic colorectal procedures.
