Dr. Serena Guarriello graduated in Medicine and Surgery with honours from the University of Bologna in 2021 and is currently a General Surgery resident at the University of Milan. During her training, she has worked in general and emergency surgery, colorectal surgery, and liver transplantation. Her professional journey also includes international experiences, where she focused on minimally invasive upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery. She is currently a Fellow of the SICE International Fellowship in Robotic Oncologic Surgery at General Surgery Unit 2 of ASST Spedali Civili di Brescia, directed by Professor Giusto Pignata. Her main interests include minimally invasive and robotic upper gastrointestinal, colorectal, bariatric, and abdominal wall surgery. Alongside her clinical training, she is actively involved in research, scientific communication, and video-based surgical education, specializing in transforming surgical procedures into clear, reproducible educational content. She has presented at several national and international meetings, and in July 2026, she received the Best Video Presentation Award at the first TROGSS International Congress in Luxembourg.
